The Fayette County Bar Association is deeply troubled by the tragic deaths of Amaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd and countless others that came before. We stand with other bar associations and denounce racism, prejudice, and discrimination as they have no place in our society. We stand with the Black community and all other members of our community who condemn actions that are contrary to the ideals put forth by our profession. As a membership organization of lawyers and judges, we are called to exert an influence for good on the life of the community; promote equal administration of justice; elevate the standard of integrity, honor, and equality in the legal profession. As community servants, the FCBA hopes to effect change and make our society less divisive.
