FCBA Annual Law Day Awards Luncheon:  “Out of Many, One: The Constitution’s Promise.”

The Fayette County Bar Association (FCBA) recently hosted its annual Law Day Awards Luncheon, embracing the American Bar Association’s 2025 theme: “Out of Many, One: The Constitution’s Promise.” This event honored the significant contributions of Fayette County legal professionals while emphasizing unity in diversity under our constitutional principles.

Judge Lucinda Masterton (Ret.) received the Henry T. Duncan Award presented by Eileen O’Brien. Judge Will Moynahan was honored with the Citizen Lawyer Award, by Kyle Melloan, FCBA Board Member and Assistant US Attorney. Deputy Josh Worland received the Law Enforcement Award by Sheriff Kathy Witt. Kyle Bunnell was awarded the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award, by his mentor Mindy Barfield. Cathy Beckum, honored as Deputy Clerk of the Year by Fayette Circuit Clerk, Vince Riggs.

Adam Back, President of the Fayette County Bar Foundation, sharing insights on joining the FCBF. Preston Bell from Legal Aid of the Bluegrass highlighted the importance of Pro Bono work, and the opportunities available at LABG.

The Law Day Awards Luncheon celebrated these exceptional individuals. Congratulations to all the honorees for their remarkable contributions!

Elizabeth Combs warmly welcomed Matt Parsons as the newly appointed President of the FCBA for the 2025-2026 term. In his address, Matt took a moment to recognize the contributions of both the incoming and outgoing FCBA Board Members, while hinting that 2026 will be a milestone year, celebrating a remarkable century of the Fayette County Bar Association.

County Bar Foundation.
You may become a Fellow by contributing or pledging $1,000 to the Fayette County Bar
Foundation. Pledges may be paid in installments of $250 over a four-year period. All
contributions to the Fellows Program are applied to the Foundation’s endowment, thereby
increasing the amount of grant funding in future years.
